The MIT School of Film and Theatre admission process is conducted online with admissions depending on MIT-SFT Aptitude Test, Creative Test and Personal Interview for MSc and BSc courses while for BA the admissions depend on MIT-SOD Entrance Test and Creative Test. Students must apply online and appear for these interviews/test before the last date of admission which is usually in the month of July.

Students graduating from BSc, BA and MSc at the college can find roles as Editors, Directors, Cinematographers, VFX Artists, Cameraman, etc.

MIT School of Film and Theatre applications have not been opened by the university/college yet for the 2026 admission cycle and is expected to be released in early 2026 or late 2025. The applications closed on 31st July 2025 for most courses and 9th July 2025 for Institute of Design courses. A similar pattern may be followed for 2026 admissions so students should check the university page for more information.
