Candidates interested in taking admission at MITID must take the institute’s entrance exam, i.e. Design Aptitude Test (DAT) on the basis of which candidates will be selected for the Studio test and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. On successful qualifying in both these rounds, candidates will be required to report to the admission cell at MITID for document verification and tuition fee payment for final seat allotment.

For admission to the flagship BDes and MDes programmes, candidates need to appear for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) based on which candidates will be shortlisted for the Studio Test & Personal Interview (PI) rounds.Talking about the syllabus of MIT DAT there are no details available regarding the test syllabus on the official website. However, in the MITID DAT candidates are examined based on their analytical skills, internalisation skills, learning skills, individualistic skills, media skills, general knowledge, observation skills, and communication skills.
