Department of Technology, Shivaji University provides effective placement support to BTech students. It also conducts training sessions to help students grab the best recruitment opportunitites. As of now, the course-specific report on BTech placements has not been released by the department. In 2023, 75 companies visited the campus and offered job to 150 students. The the highest and the average packages offered during the placement drive for all courses were INR 7.50 LPA and INR 3.50 LPA, respectively. TCS, Hexaware Technologies, and Sankey Solutions, among others, were the leading companies that participated in DOT Kolhapur placements in 2023.

Department of Technology (DoT), Shivaji University, offers BTech seats to eligible candidates based on their performance in the accepted entrance exams. These exams are JEE (Main) and MHT-CET. Those who have valid scores in one of these exams can register for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and select DoT, Shivaji University, Kolhapur during choice filling. CAP is the counselling and seat allocation process conducted by the Maharashtra CET Cell (DTE). Seats are allocated based on the merit lists released during various rounds of CAP. The eligibility requirements to get admission into these universities are almost similar, in that candidates are required to complete their Class 12 with Science stream from a recognised board of education with decent scores, and the selection process is based on merit and university-level entrance exams—SGU ET and SU ET. Candidates can choose any of the universities according to their convenience and location preferences.

Both of the universities, Sanjay Godawat and Shivaji University, offer MBA courses for the duration of two years. The eligibility requirements to get admission into these universities are almost similar, in that candidates are required to complete their graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Moreover, for the selection process, both of the universities accept MAH CET/ MAT/ XAT/ CAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT. Additionally, SGU Kolhapur also accepts the PERA CET exam too.

Both of the universities, Sanjay Godawat and Shivaji, are located in Kolhapur and offer BA courses in different specialisation. The eligibility requirements to get admission into these universities are almost similar, in that candidates are required to complete their Class 12 from a recognised board of education with decent scores, and the selection process is based on merit. However, the major difference that makes the admission process hard or easier is that Shivaji University is a public university. Whereas Sanjay Godawat University is a private university. Therefore, getting admission into Shivaji University can be slightly tougher than Sanjay Godawat University.
