South Asian University Delhi offers admission to the MA programme based on the entrance exam conducted by the university. It is a two-hour entrance test with a total of 70 multiple-choice questions with one mark each. The questions are related to the specialisation opted for by the candidates. Besides, aspirants with a valid CUET-PG score can also get admission in preferred MA specialisation.

SAU Delhi has a policy with regard to awarding freeships to students from economically weaker families. There are six Freeships with stipend for each Master/ MTech/ BTech programme of SAU. Below are the criteria for the Merit Scholarship offered at SAU:These scholarships are offered to the Indian and non-Indian students who have secured the highest rank in the respective merit list of the SAU Entrance Test among the remaining students after awarding the SAU President scholarship and SAARC-India Silver Jubilee Scholarship.These are given to those who secure the highest rank at the end of the first semester examination among the remaining students after awarding the SAU President.From the second year onwards, SAU Merit Scholarships are given to those students who secure the highest rank till the end of the previous year in the respective category scholarship and SJS in the respective category of the programme.
