The M.A. in Economics has been designed to expose the students to mainstream and heterodox approaches in theory, tools and techniques. The program equips the students with analytical skills to engage with conceptual and empirical dimensions of the economy, policy, polity and society.
Knowledge of high school level mathematics is expected from the prospective candidates as a minimum qualification, as some of the courses have mathematical orientation.
Eligibility criteria :- A Bachelors degree in Economics with at least 50% marks in aggregate and at least 50% marks in Economics; OR Bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks in any of the allied subjects viz. Commerce, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or any of the Social Sciences subjects and Entrance test.
Hence, here is no needs of mathematics at 10+2 level.

The eligibility criteria for M.Sc. Statistics is completion of B.A. (Honors)/ B.Sc. (Honors) in Statistics or Mathematics or graduation in a related discipline from a recognised institute Mathematics and Statistics as main subjects at the level of graduation with minimum aggregate score of 60% at the level of graduation. Hence, B.Tech in EEE are not eligible for M.Sc Statistics.
