BIT MCA Entrance Exam

If there is a tie in the exam, the institute typically follows a tie-breaking rule-

• The candidate with higher marks in Math is ranked higher.
• If a tie persists marks in Analytical Ability will be considered
• Lastly the age of the candidate will be considered. Older candidates are given priority.

Admission to BIT MCA is based on the merit list. Some reports suggest a minimum qualifying score of 35 out of 100 is needed to enter the merit list.

In the BIT MCA proctored written test,  Computer Fundamentals is the largest section, accounting for 50% of the total questions (50 out of 100).

The shortlisted candidates must appear for an online interview. The interview will carry 100 marks. The minimum cutoff is 40 marks. Candidates must earn 38 total weighted marks apart from being in the top 600 to make it to the final list. The interview part of BIT MCA Entrance exam is significant and carries 60% weightage.

To qualify for the next stage, candidates must achieve a minimum qualifying score of 35 out of 100 marks in the written test.  

The BIT MCA Entrance exam is a computer-based practored test. It includes 100 MCQs carrying 100 marks. The question paper is going to be divided into two parts: Part A (Computer Fundamentals) and Part B (Mathematics, Analytical Ability, and General English), each with 50 questions. 

For each correct answer, you will get one mark. No negative marking for incorrect responses. 

BIT MCA 2025 application form process has ended. Candidates were able to fill out and submit their BIT MCA application form by May 15, 2025. Previously, the last registration date was April 30, 2025. 

Candidates will be able to check the important BIT MCA 2025 dates online at bitmesra.ac.in. Candidates are advised to check the BIT MCA 2025 official schedule carefully to know when the various examination and admission-related events will be conducted by the authorities. By following the schedule, the candidates will have fewer chances of missing out on important events.

The candidates will not be guaranteed admissions if they meet the BIT MCA cutoff. Since many other factors will also considered by the authorities for admissions, the candidates who meet the cutoff will have higher chances of admission into their preferred campuses. Before the counselling process, the candidates should check the previous year's cutoff to know their probable admission status. 

The authorities will consider many examination and admission-related factors while preparing the BIT MCA cutoff. Some of the important determining factors are the overall exam difficulty level, previous years' cutoff trends, total number of qualified candidates, total number of seats available, etc. All of these factors will be checked carefully by the authorities while preparing the cutoff for admissions.
