The Training and Placement Unit of the Institute is responsible for providing world class job opportunities to the undergraduate and postgraduate students after graduation for suitable jobs in the industry and various private and public sector organizations.
No institute can guarantee you placements. It's just purely based on how you utilize your abilities and skills at the right time. I would suggest you to contact the training and placement department personally for accurate numbers.
Salary is a function of various factors - i.e. (i) the institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. e.g. a graduate from a top institute will command a higher salary. (ii) Your work experience - organization and type of work profile (iii) city - a metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns. (iv) Your current organization - i.e. where you will be joining - an MNC usually has higher salaries as compared to other organizations. (v) Your work profile i.e. Manager/ AVP, etc. Thus one cannot allocate a figure.

There are certain B-schools which offer admission on the basis of your CAT score only. FMS also is one such premier bschool. You will have to give CAT irrespective of the stream you woukd want to choose. However, there are other colleges like NMIMS , IIFT, Symbiosis, XLRI which conduct their own entrance exams and you need not give CAT to get admission into these colleges.

Hello Rahul, For FMS, the eligibility criteria is as follows:Candidates applying for admission to the Two Year Full-Time MBA must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline after 12 years of formal schooling with at least 50% marks (SC/ST: Passing marks; OBC/PWD/CW: 45%) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing for the final year examination of Bachelor's Degree may also apply. The total fee payable to FMS is approximately 20k+. Thisyear the average package was 20.5 lacs CTC. FMS has exchange progams with various reputed international universities like Imperial College business School, London School of Economics, University of Cologne and many more.
Talking about placements, there is no predefined criteria to get the highest package from any company. You should have a fair amount of PORs, and other academic or extra curricular achievements which will make your CV good. However, they neither guarnatee you a good placememt nor the absence of these would land you in a not so good company. You just need to have the required skills in whatever profile you are applying for.

Your background, be it engineering or non-engineering won't play much difference in your placement. At FMS, you learn a plenty of new skills and gain vast knowledge on various business domains like marketing, finance, operations, etc. Google will also come for people who have the required skills in all such domains and if you have those skills, it doesn't matter you are an engineer or not.
