IISER entrance exam 2018 pattern is such that the question paper will contain a total of 60 multiple choice questions that candidates need to complete in duration of 180 minutes (3 hours). Candidates will be evaluated out of a total of 180 marks, out of which 45 marks is allotted to the biology section. Minimum Marks: Candidates have to secure marks equal or above the cut-off percentage in their respective boards. Relaxation: There is 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for the OBC-NC & PwD category. Cut-Off Percentage: For SC/ST/KM category candidates, the cut-off percentage marks is 55% in 10+2 level for all boards. Candidates applying through SCB channel will have to appear in the IISER Aptitude Test.

The cut-off is not a constant and keeps changing every year and also depends on the education board. It may range from 60% to as high 90%. However, for SC/ST, students the criteria is 55% for all boards.
