Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali Scholarships and Funding
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana scholars admitted to IISERs will draw fellowship as per KVPY norms. In addition, Department of Science and Technology provides a limited number of INSPIRE scholarships of Rs.5000/- per month to candidates admitted through JEE and SCB channels, upon fulfilling the criteria set by DST. Students admitted to the BS programme in Engineering or Economics are not entitled for the scholarship.

Placements: About 50-65% of students at IISER, Mohali, are placed in our course. The average offer in our poll fell between 10 and 27 LPA. Many R&D companies seek our college to place students. Goldman Sachs, IOCL, Asian Paints, and others are top recruiters. Higher-level positions such as theoretical physicist and research scientist were available. This college also offers internships to students.
Placements: About only 10 students got placed because it is a research institute, but students went abroad for higher studies like Ph.D. in well-known universities across the world. The average package of placed students is about 8 LPA, so if you are looking for placements, this institute is not for you.
Placements: Placements are very low and often low package if available. Usually data science minors may opt for placements. Most people opt for PhDs after BS-MS. Since it is not a professional course, there's flexibility in choosing careers. Some may even go for corporate jobs or government jobs unrelated to their topic.
Placements: IISER Mohali doesn't have placements like typical engineering colleges. It is a research institute, and hence students opt to pursue higher education instead, I. e. PhDs. There are no packages offered but students wishing to work in the industry find jobs in R&D departments of companies. Many students wish to work as professors and go into education. Placements: In the IISER, Mohali, around 40–45% of the students get placements in our course. In our course, the average package offered was between 4 and 7 LPA. Various research and development companies visit our college for placements. The top roles offered were researchers, project heads, research interns, etc. in our course. Students also get internship opportunities at this college.
Placements: The placement environment here is not yet developed, though there is an opportunity cell that handles all this, which is also quite new. Moreover, most students after graduation from here pursue Ph.D. and postdoctoral studies, and for these, IISER Mohali provides good exposure and ample opportunities.

Earlier, IISER admission took place through three channels, IISER Entrance Exam, JEE Main and KVPY scores. Last year onwards, the admission takes place only through IISER entrance exam scores. Hence, JEE Main scores or ranks will not be considered for admission.
