Also, from job opportunities point of view, chemical engineering would open up more opportunities. Nevertheless, metallurgy branch is good at its own place. If you are from Kashmir, then Srinagar becomes home state NIT. Percentile required will be higher. But, then you have obtained a very good percentile. I feel you should be able to get admission without any hassle. No, there is no such issue in this college about the security, as you are not often not allowed to go out of campus. And, if you want to get out of the campus, then you have to take permission for college and then they will allow you to go out with all the possible arrangements.
