Hi, The Mass Communication & Videography (MCV) department was founded in 1996. Since 2006 (autonomy), the MCV dept. has steadily worked towards formulating a holistic syllabus for the taught course, keeping the pressing needs of 'audio- visual' literacy in the changing times in mind.
The Department of Mass Communication and Videography provides in-depth knowledge of cinema and media to the students. The department boasts of faculty who are a combination of academic as well as professional experts. Almost all the regular professors are doing their Ph.D and others have won national awards in various fields like cinematography, sound designing and documentary filmmaking.
Those from the last batch who are not pursuing any PG courses and those who have completed there PG courses, most of them are working in the television, advertising & film industries (viz, NDTV, CNN-IBN, AajTak, Zee Network, Star Network, Sony Entertainment; Percept, JWT, O&M etc.) either as trainees/assistants or as full-time journalists, programme producers, production executives, technical experts, independent filmmakers, etc.

Hello Sanjukta!
To be honest, there are many things you've to keep in mind. If you're applying for St. Xavier's College, then you need to know the Eligibility criteria. Then comes the second one - The admission test. For the admission test, you need to prepare it , thoroughly (if you are serious about it). They follows the question pattern, which consists of MCQs, Identify, Essays. It's of 100 marks. Now here, comes the twist. The first part consists of objectives. Those are very tricky. You need to know about foreign movies, books, directors, and all other media related questions. Also be prepare with current affairs as well. Then comes the second part of the question, which includes creative writing. If you're good in English and have good flow in writing new things, then it will be easy for you.
You can get the last year's question paper online.
Follow the questions and get knowledge regarding movies, books, music as much as you can. And lastly, all the best for your boards. Don't panic, things will set, eventually!

Hi Karishma,
The eligibility criteria for BMS is clearly stating that one must have maths in +2 level to be eligible to apply for the course. So, unfortunately you can't apply. But there are other courses which you can opt. But if you really want to study BBA or BMS then look for institutions which offer the course without Maths. I long as I know that you will get it.
All the best.

Hi Devjit,
The eligibility criteria for BMS is pretty simple. As you have maths in your +2, you are eligible to apply. You need 60% in your aggregate which will be calculated with two compulsory subject's marks, English & Maths and marks of two other subjects. It will be out of 400.
No one actually can tell you the required percentage to get admission. There will be an admission test too. So, half of the aggregate percentage and half of the admission test score will be summed up and an index score will be calculated. On the basis of that, the final list of admission will be made. If you don't have big numbers in aggregate, you have the opportunity to make up in the admission test and vice versa.
