Good infrastructure and facilities, well-maintained labs, and internships are mandatory.

Placements: Actually, everyone got internships because it's mandatory, and teachers also help us get internships. The college wants us to be industry-ready, so internships are compulsory. A pretty good percentage of students get placements, but Physics is a pure Science subject, so people actually try to pursue higher studies in this subject. They avoid placement.

Satisfied with college. However, extremely strict discipline makes campus life very school-like.

Placements: About 70% students were placed. The highest package is 15 LPA. Average package is 10 LPA, and lowest package is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, PwC, ICICI, TCS, and EY. 90% of second and third year students secured an internship. Data-centric or Data analytics-based roles.

My college provides a great environment for studies and great facilities overall.

Placements: The education quality is overall good compared to the other colleges out there. From my department, many students do not choose placements. They study further. Some students go abroad, and some go to the IITs. I will recommend this college if someone wants to study.

My experience at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.

Placements: The percentage of students placed in M.Sc. courses is generally high, with an average CTC of 10 LPA, more or less, though it differs from course to course. In M.Sc. in Data Science, one can expect a CTC as high as 25-30 LPA, whereas most of the time, B.Sc. students don't sit in a placement drive. If you sit, you can expect 3-10 LPA, more or less. The placement cell is very effective in helping you find all kinds of jobs and internships.

Once a Xaverian, always a Xaverian.

Placements: Many students get internships from my college in big companies like Deloitte, PwC, etc. The package is an average of 7 LPA. The salary is almost what a CA would get in their early days. Also, this college develops students' personality through seminars and its punctuality and discipline. Therefore, it helps in CVs, and companies prefer Xavier's students over any.

Good networking opportunities and exposure.

Placements: Percentage of students placed was not that great. But some of my friends got really nice placements from college in very good companies. 20 LPA - 25 LPA package was offered to them last year. A well-dedicated placement cell looks after all of this.
