Hi Chakrayudh,
Sorry for being too late to reply. You'll get a lot of information about the placement by the college soon. Still, I'm giving you the information. Generally, the mass communication students get placed in various fields. Trainee journalist, assistant photographer, assistant of film production people like director, screenplay writer, cinematographer, production manager, art director, sound designer, editor and others, content writer, creative content maker in an advertisement making company, public relation officer, documentary film maker, assistant media analyst etc. Also, one can start his/her own startup and can do almost all the jobs as a freelance.
In the beginning, one doesn't get a lot of money, not even a handsome salary. But depending on one's capabilities, creativity etc. the salary grows fast. Placed students in 2016 by the placement cell of SXCKOL got a salary ranging from 3 lakhs to 4.5/4.8 Lakhs per annum. Others who got placed on their own they got a salary ranging from Rs 1.8 Lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum. One shouldn't expect a lot in the beginning because here experience matters. Yeah, there is some area where freshers are in demand so those fields can give one a little bit more money.
All the best.

In St. Xavier's College, Calcutta, we have a placement cell where students can register themselves. Many companies come to our college for recruitment, registered students get notifications according to their stream & subjects. Then one can give exam(if there any) & interview. Some leading news channel has taken student in past years also other companies got PR officers, content writer etc. Names of some companies who recruit are Viacom 18, Ogilvy, Sony India, Adidas, Cognizant, Google, etc. Also, recent graduated MCVians are working in many production houses, leading newspapers such as The Telegraph, TOI etc and in some leading news channels such as NDTV, CNN, India Today, etc.
If you do things in proper way & time during your course, you will get a good job.

Hi Yashika.
St.Xavier's College (Calcutta) is owned and managed by the Jesuits of the Calcutta province of the Society of Jesus.
So, basically this is a private college.
SXCCAL is also an autonomous college affiliated under Calcutta University.

Without being graduate you cannot be post graduate, so you definitely need Graduation with minimum 50% marks and valid entrance exams score like CAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT.
