Writers need a workspace where they can draft their write ups without having to worry about much. Authors use MS Word for the purpose of drafting their articles, stories and what not. Authors can seamlessly edit, format, share and store their work on MS Word.

With so many tools on MS Word they reduce their work time and increases their efficiency, authors often opt for MS Word to draft their content before publishing it.

HR Industry professionals use MS Word for the following purposes-

  • To maintain, store, edit and format various documents of importance.
  • To design offer letters, company policies and mail bodies.
  • Draft records of certain important organizational info.
  • Present data in tabular formats for presentations. 
  • Present reports by using tools of data visualization
  • Use operations like mail merge for seamless processes.

There are numerous platforms from where a student or a professional can earn MS Word Cerifications from. Online platforms such as EdX, Linkedin Learning, UDEMY, Greater Learning, Coursera, Swayam, etc. which provide MS Word Courses as well as certifications. These platforms consist of various courses, both paid and free. Youtube is one of the free sources most students opt for, but it does not provide any certifications. One draw back of taking free courses without certificates is that it cannot be showcased in your CV.

Although, the fees structure for the paid courses generally range from Rs. 500 to Rs. 5,000.

There are no hard and fast rules before beginning a course in MS Word as it is a basic computer application that everyone should know the basics of, if not advanced. MS Word certifications do not require as such any prior knowledge for that matter, all you have to take care about is that you should be able to hold command on the language of the course curriculum. Students can even use Youtube for searching for various tutorials in a linguistic that suits them.
