This is a misconception that a person can't do MBA or PGDM being a middle class person. If u have a good academic past and you get admission in MBA or PGDM through merit in any reputed college and you can get a bank loan easily. Anyways, other than this, you can pursue M.Com, CA or CS. All the best. Thank you.
Not relevant as IT is purely technical and needs strong basic concepts in the field of coding and technology, you must go for marketing or finance or human resources.
Hi Balu,
If you mean full time MBA or PGDM program then please remember in order to pursue this program you need to be graduate in any field with atleast 50% marks in graduation, plus you need to take various management entrance test like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, etc.
Please note that the basic eligibility to pursue MBA is same to all specializations. However it may differ from institute to institute.
Hope it helps. Please feel free to revert.
Wish you luck.
Both courses are equally good. CA is a professional course and pass percentage of successful candidates is low. It gives you opportunities to do a corporate job or independent consultancy. MBA is a generic course. Unless you do MBA from top 20 colleges of India, it may not give you stable & high salary job. If you do not have patience to work hard and clear CA it is suggested that you may go for MBA.
As far as a B.Com degree is concerned it is designed to enable an individual to get advanced knowledge in special subjects, accommodate latest happenings. With a B Com degree under your belt you could consider options in Management, Accounting, Media, Hospitality, IT, Academics, Social Work and Law, to name a few. All these choices will require a post graduate degree in that area like a Mass Comm degree for Media.MBA / MMS / equivalent, MBA Capital Markets, 3-year LLB, MCA(for those who had studied Maths till HSC), Film Editing/Direction/allied courses, Library & Information Science, Dramatic Arts, Postgraduate courses in Travel and To... if you are pursuing b.com then there is no need to do any other course moreover you should focus on your vocabulary and mathematics if you want to do it from CAT MAT XAT etc.
Hi Shivani,
Being a CA, you have great choices in your future. Whereas, if you want to pursue MBA in marketing, then you can take CAT coaching to get admission in IIMs. For marketing, you can prefer IIM - A and IIM - B.
All the best.
Prepare for entrance exams like CAT, MAT, DMAT, and XAT. You need to qualify CAT exam to get admission IIMs and other reputed B-schools.
please only opt according to your interest
there are so many people who think MBA is of no use but most people suggest MBA and it is really good
Dear Krishna,
As you have not mentioned your graduation course, I am assuming that you are a commerce students, looking at the options that you have written in the question.
Except doing MBA, CA or CS, you can also pursue:
1. Master in Finance.
2. M.Com.
3. PGDM
4. Or short term certificate courses, depending upon your area of interest.
Good to read that you still have a hunger for enhancing your skills. Since, you are already Head of Operations, as per my point of view you should try and groom yourself for a COO or CEO role. For this you should try and acquire skills in Finance, People Management, Sales and Marketing. Thus, you can try and pursue relevant courses that will help you gain insight in the said areas. You could also pursue Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering/Operations field. This will also open doors for you to pursue an extended career in academics as a lecturer.
Dear Daniel,
Kindly check which field is your cup of tea (job in core finance/sales of financial products/corporate-FMCG/sales/HR). Being a B.Com student, I would suggest, you should opt for core finance (investment banker, derivative analyst, up to credit analyst, etc.) if you have 55 percent marks in graduation (demanded by the MNCs) otherwise if you comfortable with the financial product sales job (mutual fund sales, insurance sales, corporate credit sales, relationship manager) there is no graduation percentage restriction.
Be sure and secure by scoring high marks in CAT exam.
You can do MBA in operations. It involves supply chain and logistics.
I would suggest to continue with b.a at bhu for two reasons. one is the course will give you chances to pursue many other options in master's and its different from commerce. Secondly, you can do management course as PG with this as well. If there is any specific purpose of doing b.com, its upto u.
Dear,
Both the fields are having scope, knowledge and job profile for your future career. But according to growth, job profile and placement, I would recommend MBA programme in the following specialisation:
Finance
International Business
Marketing
Business analytics
Insurance
Media Management
Fashion Management
Rural management
All the best!
Dear Mayank,
Options available include but not limited to
