The CS engineering programme usually deals with how to build micro processors, how to write a compiler etc. IT is the business side of computers - usually dealing with databases, business, and accounting. One way to think of it is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes and CSE deals with the science that facilitates these applications.
Further, while CSE focuses on the foundation of computing, IT as a discipline focuses on satisfying the computing technology needs of organisations. So, in a continuum between principles and application, IT focuses more on application, with the goal being to ap... View more

At this score, getting CSE may limit your chances to get into the top colleges of the country, so I'll suggest you opt for any of the branches and then opt for internal up-gradation of the branch.

Hello Shivraj Ture, it's okay. There is no specific or special process. You have to just approach the administrative staff of the college from where you passed first year but did not pursue second year. They may ask you reasons for this drop. I am sure that you have taken this drop for some reason. Give that and start attending classes immediately. Best wishes to you.
