If you are plannig to study your Master's degree in Canada then doing the 1-year PG Diploma in Canada itself would have been the ideal way, however, what comes into play is the question of reapplying for the visa, work permit, etc. A Master's degree admission is also very competitive in Canada. BCA saves one year, as syllabus of BCA is more or less same as B.Tech. The only difference is in the 1st year, where B.Tech include engineering sciences- mathematics, physics, chemistry etc. BCA syllabus does not include electronic paper I, II & III during 2nd, 3rd & 4th Year. Bottom Line: The companies who recruit B.Tech candidates are the same that recruits BCA candidates.

If you have B.Tech degree in CS, then you are more valuable than BCA or B.Sc student. By B.Tech, you can easily get a job. Because in an engineering college, there comes lot of multinational company for recruitment but not in any B.Sc or BCA college.
See, the placements of both the colleges are almost the same and the problem is the fee if you can pay the RVC fee then opt for that, otherwise, you can drop a year.
