Hi,
Both are the better branches in engineering. But in recent times computer science engineering has dominated the other branches in terms of job opportunities.
So I prefer computer science engineering to electrical engineering. It has good scope in future so opt for CSE.
You can do electrical engineering but only in atop college because only then you can get a core company. EEE graduates can do jobs only in their core sectors in a most efficient way. If you don't want CSE, then you can do ECE (electronics and communication engineering).

First of all, I would like to say that CSE and IT course can't be compared just based on the looks of it. Both will land you a job in IT Industry. You may opt for any of this based on many parameters like:
1. The university that you select.
2. The college offering the course.
3. Syllabus of the course.
4. Feedback of the course from the alumni or seniors.
5. Placement opportunities.
6. Faculty feedback.
Most of the universities' syllabus for CSE is based on the core of computers, but whereas IT has more of advance industry-related subjects. If you want to do Masters or research later on, then go for CSE. B... View more

Management & IT Consultant,

Although syllabus of CSE and IT overlap by 80-90%, market acceptance of IT grads in higher in comparison to CSE. As CSE allotment in any engineering entrance examination is toughest and only toppers get CSE, end product Engineering grads of CSE is perceived better than IT by industry. If you have a choice, you may opt CSE over IT.

You didn't say it explicitly, I'm presuming you're referring to your JEE Mains percentile and subsequent acceptance to any government- or centrally-funded technical institutes. Two and a half wax students are typically designated as being above cut off, and only these students are permitted to participate in the centralised admissions procedure for NITs and are permitted to sit for the JEE Advanced test. The final findings are being released by NTA and should be available at any time.
