College Selection Expert,

Yes, GATE exam is compulsory for all the students who wants to go for higher studies after B.Tech and through GATE exam score, you can get the college.

No, GATE is not compulsory everywhere. It is required for most IITs, NITs, and IISc, and a good score also lowers your fees at government colleges. Many private universities like BITS Pilani, VIT, and SRM admit students through their own entrance tests or graduation marks. So without GATE, you still have solid options, just fewer at the top government tier.

1. BHU, Varanasi
There is a national entrance test. For M.Sc. There are subject-wise tests. You probably need to be among the national top 50 to actually get in. (I had rank 12. )
If you're accepted then the procedure is quite straight forward. You simply need to go there, submit your certificates and marksheets, done.
2. MSU, Baroda
There is a national entrance test followed by an interview (for those who fulfil a certain minimum cut-off as decided by the university). Getting into MSU won't be as tough as getting into BHU though. Admission procedure is similar, nothing specifically different. St. Xaviers College, MumbaiView more

Hello,
This is the minimum eligibility required:
* Compare 5 MSc Programs in Microbiology. While biology is the study of living beings as a whole, microbiology is concentrated on microscopic organisms. Bacteria, fungi, protests, and, in some cases, viruses are part of the organisms studied.
* Microbiology is good as a career so long as you keep your learning/academic graph upgraded, as with most life-science degrees you may need to keep going till PhD or post-doctoral studies with grants/fellowships to get a good job in academics/basic research whereas in industries/R&D.
Thank you.

Yes, well, it depends upon the branch you're seeking in. In some branches the cut off isn't so high and in some, it's around 78- 82 percent in the state board examinations. However, if you're above 70 percent then there are fair chances of selection.

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT,

Getting into IIMs with 66.10 percentile is a difficult task, but chances are there for IIM seats. Most IIMs look for candidates above 98 percentile. Some good colleges for this score are as follows:
1. Amity
2. Christ University
3. Vellore University
4. CMS Jain
5. Welingkar
6. IFIM
7. IBS
8. Alliance
9. RVIM
10. MSRIM
The most important thing which you should look while selecting a college is your willingness to study in that campus. You can select one from the above.
Best of luck.
