At my admission time, there was only Vellore and Chennai branch two years ago and these branches are recently opened by VIT. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000. So, you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well with each category admission fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank but there are 2nd category as well if you want CSE but you have to pay more for that. As you have scored good marks, after clearing MAT, you need to fill up the different colleges forms online, it depends upon you in which college you need to take the admission, fill up the forms and after that, they will call you for GD and PI and the admissions are totally dependent upon that.

English Language, Comprehension Skills, Verbal Reasoning, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical Ability, Fundamental Mathematics Operations, Critical/Analytical/Logical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Interpretation. I am a 2018 CAT aspirant. The CAT exam is been conducted in 2 slots (with 2 different question papers but same pattern)
where the, forenoon session means the exam is conducted from 9 am to 12 pm (reporting time is 7.30 am), whereas the afternoon session means the exam is conducted from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm (reporting time is 1 pm).

The college will prefer February MAT 2018 for admission to 2018. Dec MAT 2017 is not eligible for admission in 2018. All the best.
