Commerce and science are the two broad categories. In commerce, you can go for arts/ design, business, finance and banking. In science, you have engineering and medical. These are the traditional streams students choose. Some new streams are also in demand nowadays like bio- tech, nanotechnology, agriculture and genetic. It depends on which stream you chose. If you have chosen commerce then you can try for CA, B.Com, BBA, and many more if you have chosen non med then engineering is the most preferred then B.Sc and if you have chosen med then you can try for becoming a doctor or in the field of medical Science or if you have chosen arts then you can try for any LLB and many more. Law and MBA can be also done by a non-med student. Courses are many but the main thing is that which stream you have chosen.

You can choose from Science, Arts or Commerce. You should know what the three categories relates to and then figure out your interests. Remember these -
Commerce Stream related to courses on trade and business
Science stream is focusing on courses in Medical sciences and Engineering
Arts stream is into a wide range of courses such as History, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, languages, Anthropology, Human Resources, journalism, etc.

You may apply for Diploma in Engineering/ Polytechnic Diploma in Core Branches like Civil, Mechanical & Electrical.
If you choose Diploma then it will be complete in three year, and after it you may do your job.

1. Pursue graduation in Science, Arts , Commerce, Fine arts,Performing arts,Home science,fashion designing,hotel management, Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Travel & tourism ,Medicine ,etc
2. Pursue Diploma in Hotel Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, IT, Travel, Education,Physical Education,etc
3. Pursue vocational courses that would help you in getting employment
Here a lot would depend on whether you the stream( general/science) that you have opted form at your HSC level .

After completing class 10th, you can go for science stream and you can pursue engineering. You can also take commerce stream, then you can pursue BCA or CA/CS. You can also appear for NEET to get into medical field. You can also go for polytechnic engineering and you can pursue B.Tech. You can go for NDA, if you want to join defence.

Little confusion at this stage is perfectly okay as you have advices and suggestions coming from all corners (read, relatives, cousins, uncles and friends). If you wish to go in the field of investigation there could be various paths like B.Sc Forensic Science, Investigative journalism, News Reporting, RAW or IB but you need to be very strong physically, emotionally both.
Another option is research, where you are investigating about may be people, data, numbers or things. Do make a check if your skills match up or not.

In BE, First of all, you find out your interest in the track you want to go either management or research oriented. If you select management, then, go for MBA. Otherwise, If you want to choose RND or research, you must do M.Tech.

If you are interested in Medical, then go for the preparation of Medical examination. If you are interested in engineering, then go for the preparation of JEE or state engineering examination. But, if you are interested in theoretical Science then take B.Sc.

You have not mentioned your subject of 12th but I assume it's science. You can become doctor/engineer, aircraft maintenance person, pilot, armed forces officer. Take your choice. What your heart is saying? Follow it.
