It's great to hear you didn't mention you want to do engineering instead. You can go for courses of NIIT, DUCAT, etc. They will introduce you to the world of IT better than any engineering college.

Hello Tanmay, Your ranks are used for admission and there is no particular scores which are fixed for admission into the colleges. The ranks vary every year and so it is difficult to predict the colleges that you can get. So, after seeing your ranks, we can conclude your admission chances. And, why do you aim for just 100-129? Try to score around 200-250 so that you might not doubt your chances.

It depends on what kind of job role you want to take up. There are plenty of branches/aspects of a software engineering role in Information Technology industry. Most importantly try to find which aspect you like the most. Generally, most of the times this remains undecided.
If you want to take up hardcore Coding/Development related job, my suggestion is to pick up a programming language and fall in love with. Start practicing problems with minimal difficulty level to tough ones. Easier ones can be easily found on the internet. The tougher ones however, needs certain level of deeper searches. Try to take part in coding competitions. Sph... View more

Your stream should be science with PCM as compulsory subjects in your intermediate studies and you must me good in these. Some initial knowledge of programming may be an add on or a necessary requirement depending on the college you are applying for. For IITs and NITs initial coding knowledge is not compulsory, they teach from very basic level. Most of colleges allot CS branches based on your rank in there entrance exams. More Ever there is no such special requirement to apply for computer science and engineering.
