I imagine you will be pursuing engineering, and are seeking which of the degrees is more beneficial for you. CSE and IT have almost 90 percent same subjects for engineering. All the important computer-related CA, OS or microprocessors. Only some hardware labs for CSE and software labs for IT differ. CSE is older stream, it has been released rather recently. So there's just a hype for CSE being better. Old is not always gold. Now, the important part comes where software engineers are most desperate for. The money. You can only get NIT, Agartala if your home state is Agartala and comes in any category or else you have no chance of getting CSE in NIT, Agartala.

Yes you will get CSE and IT in BVP.
But, it will be difficult for you to grab CSE at MAIT.
If you are lucky enough, you may get IT in MAIT.
So, wait for the counseling round.

Your chances are too less to get the admission on considering your rank in IPU exam. May be there will be some reservation quota seats on which you can think about getting enrolled in any college. Do counselling with end round of colleges if seats will be there you will surely get enrolled.
