No, for CSE, this rank will not be sufficient. Moreover, you may get a low ranking college with one of the non technical branches. Some of the suggestions be NIT Pondicherry, Silchar, Manipur. Since, these are only suggestion and personally I feel not worth going into any of these for distance education. Also, private colleges or drop are two options left with you.

The closing rank for CS is less than 6k rank in CET so it is difficult to get the seat in PES.
You can try to get a seat through management or you can also get a seat through COMEDK counselling.
Try your best to get a seat in PES. It will help you to build a bright future.
Best of luck!

Hi Ashwani,
I think you might get admission in CSE, as your rank is not that bad, but you'll probably have to wait till second cut-off, as this year the rank for General students outside Punjab students is – 19863 and for Punjab students, it is - 40895.
And, even if you don't get admission in CSE, there are many other branches in which your rank well fits and you can get admission. I will suggest, that you pay the fees, but don't take admission, in that case you will get a chance at second counselling. Also, you can take admission in any branch now and change it in second year. But, you'll have to clear a test before that.View more

ECE is about electronics, and how the different electrical components (Microprocessor, RAM etc. ). Communicate with each other. It has more Physics in it. There is a little programming involved, but not much. CSE deals with telling these components what to do and when to do it by programming them. It has a lot of logic involved and Maths too. You can take CSE.

Experienced Campus Representative.,

Remember, any course in SASTRA will fetch you a job in any one of the IT companies at the end of your four years. So, don’t restrict yourself to one particular course and be open to any B.Tech course. I have seen people with high marks often choose electronics, experience its wrath and eventually get placed in an IT company. Also, people with lesser marks choosing a lot cooler course to get into an IT company. So, my only suggestion is to be happy with any course you get here. Yes, you will get any desired course that you wanted
