Both Computer Science and IT (Information Technology) are having excellent job prospects. I may refer you University of Engineering & Management (UEM) under IEM group. Students passing out from IEM and UEM from both these branches are working all over the world in top positions. They are working in Google, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and ask top multinational companies.
Govt of India, MHRD, NIRF has ranked IEM group as 3rd in Bengal after IIT Kharagpur and NIT Durgapur. The top 4 of Bengal within 100 in order are:-
1) IIT Kharagpur
2) NIT Durgapur
3) IEM Kolkata
4) IIEST Shibpur (Formerly BESU)

Computer Science is not difficult if you have analytical thinking skills. However, to get good grades in relative grading system in CS is most challenging because CS class is composed of best students of any batch as only toppers of Engineering Entrance Examinations are able to get admission in CS branch.

IT AND CS both are same till 3rd year but in 4th year Cs student is study about hardware and software both but in IT only software.
This is only reason to diffrentiate it and cs
so cs is preferred over it and bettet salary is of cs

No, only on the basis of class 12th exam, you can take up B.Sc in Computer Science. Otherwise you need to qualify in JEE Mains or other qualifying exams to take up Engineering.

2500 is a very good rank. Try with your JEE Advanced marks to get admission in IIT-Delhi or else use this wonderful rank to get admission in NIT-Delhi if you didn't take JEE Advanced.

Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. Yes you can get admission in Computer Science and Engineering after completing Diploma in Mechanical Engineering no matter what branch you studied during Diploma. There are many institutions in India that offers Lateral Entry provision to Diploma holders. But NITs and IITs not provide this system, you have to appear for JEE Mains and Advance for getting admission in those colleges. Congratulations for securing 5210 rank in JEE. There is the probability of getting government-owned engineering college. So you need to apply on the JoSAA counselling portal. As you have scored 62% in class 12th and 73.3 percentile in JEE Mains, so you are eligible to take admission in any private colleges. You should prefer Amity University, Shardha University, Lovely Professional University, etc. as per your interests and convenience.

For getting admission in CEG campus, CSE branch you must git above 250 marks. But you can try to get admission as there are low cut-offs this year, so you may get admission.

If you are looking for most interesting stream then it is mechanical followed by ECE. Mechanical is considered as the true engineering branch. It has thermo and mechanics subjects.
