Hello Raj,
I would like to tell you that in engineering colleges there is no acting course included. Yes, you can do one thing, you can join acting classes outside the college if it is available.
Good luck!

Yes, you can learn acting from any institute. Livewire is good for acting as they have guest lectures from film and TV industry's known people. Rest is up to you as to how you make yourself skilled in acting and do watch performance oriented films.

Hello there,
Yes, backup is much needed because learning acting is an expensive process, later on, it's not important that you'll get great roles and good earning into the industry. After graduation, join NSD, FTII, SRPA or SRFTI to learn the acting skills and join a theatre group to polish your skills, give audition as much as you can, be smart, be aware of everything.
Regards.

It is not a very safe career choice for sure. There is a lot of competition and a lot of difficulties. There are some Acting schools but even they don't help much and will force you to attempt on your own.

The tag that you have selected while putting this question is self exclamatory and self answering.
National School of Drama is the place where one can go and pursue a course, not just in acting but in Direction and other domains as well. Right from Script to Stage Sets and from MakeUp to Lights and Sounds Management, all is a part of the Drama Courses.
other than NSD,Punjab University Chndigadh, also has their reputed Theatre Department.
NSD offers Three Year Diploma in Dramatic Arts and that is the MOST Reputed Acting Course in the country.
