Agricultural Engineering

Agriculture engineering is better than food technology. Agriculture includes major aspects of food technology.
B.Tech in Agriculture:
After completing B.Tech in Agriculture stream a candidate can expect in government departments like the irrigation and agricultural department, dairy department, and food corporation. In addition to this, candidates can even try out in financial institutions and banks too which provide finance agricultural education centres.
B.Tech in Food Technology:
A food technologist can expect jobs in food processing and packaging industry or even as a research associate in premier institutes, universities and research and development units. He can try out for the posts like Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager, Laboratory Supervisor, Food Packaging Manager or as a technician.

The basic eligibility criteria for BE/ B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering is 10+2 or equivalent with physics, chemistry, mathematics, preferably biology. Duration of Bachelors course in agricultural engineering is 4 years. Besides the required educational qualification, the candidates have to appear for the entrance examination conducted at the State level, National level or University level. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi conducts an All India Examination for admission to Agricultural colleges for B.Tech courses all over the country.
AIEEE Joint Entrance Examination and JEE conducted by IITs are the other two entrances which are accepted by various institutes. Apart from these, each State/ institute may conduct their own entrance examination, and some among them are State Entrance Examination conducted by Uttar Pradesh Technical University (SEE UPTU), EAMCET by Andhra Pradesh, KCET by Karnataka, etc.
