It depends on the institution mostly. Though animation is such a field where you can learn as many softwares as you feel like depending upon your free will to get your desired output. Normally, you'll be taught Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Match Mover, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe AfterEffects Monkey Jam, Blender 3D, and maybe a few more. Yes, he can.
Minimum requirements:
50% marks in any stream.
Must have completed graduation in case for opting MJMC (noe compartments, reappears or backlog).
* as most of the colleges do not give admission as per UGC rules.
It does not require any journalism background for opting BJMC or MJMC but for M.Phil and PhD.

You can take admission in Amity after BA for LLB only. No need to do BA + LLB as it is a 5 year integrated course that can be done after 12th.

Amity has opened it's Mumbai location after successful operation in other states. They are known to have good faculty and take all steps required to have a pleasant experience for the student. Hence I feel you can take admission here.
