The eligibility criteria for a BSc in Fashion and Apparel Design course may vary depending on the college, but the basic requirement is to:

  • Pass Class 12 or equivalent exam with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. For candidates from SC/ST, the minimum score is 45%. 
  • You can be from any stream, such as Science, Commerce, or Arts. 
  • Some colleges may require you to appear for an entrance exam.

For admissions to four-year UG Fashion and Apparel Design programme, candidates should have passed Class XII with at least 35% aggregate marks from a recognised board. Candidates who pass Class XII through open school or distance education system are not eligible for AIFD admissions. It is to be noted that only children of Army personnel or ex- Army personnel can register for AIFD exam.

Only such candidates who meet the prescrived criteria must apply. If the candidate doesn't meet the criteria, his or her applications may be cancelled.

Below are the details regarding the eligibility criteria for  BSc in Fashion & Apparel Design:

Eligibility: For 1st Semester – Candidates need to pass Class 12 with a  minimum of 40% aggregate (Arts, Science or Commerce)

For 3rd Semester (Lateral Entry): A 3-year Diploma in ADFT/ Textiles/Handlooms Costume Design & Fashion. 
Duration: A 3 years for Regular students / 2 years for Lateral entry
