To identify which university is more affordable for MBA courses among Assam University and Gauhati University, the best anyone can do is compare their course fees. Hence, the tuition fees for the MBA at Assam University range from INR 3,600 to INR 7,200, and the MBA course tuition fees of Gauhati University is INR 7,000.
As can be seen both of the universities' fees for MBA courses are more or less similar. Currently, NIRF has not given any rank to Assam University for the MBA course (Management Category). However, according to the rankings from NIRF, Assam University outperformed various other institutes, securing a higher position for its achievements. It has been seen that in the 'University' category, the institute is ranked #101.
Additionally, the MBA course at Assam University has been ranked by 'The Times' in 2022; it has been seen that in the management course, the university has been ranked 125.

Yes, Assam University does offer internships to its MBA students. Even, students need to go to the compulsory Summer Internship as assigned by the department. All MBA students, after their second end-semester examination is over and before the commencement of the third semester in the second year, will have to compulsorily undergo a summer internship of preferably eight weeks duration.

No, Assam University does not allow direct admission to MBA courses. To be eligible for admission to all management courses offered by Assam University, candidates must qualify for their Class 12 with a 60% score from a recognised board and must achieve 55% in bachelor's degree. After qualifying for this basic eligibility criteria candidates must have secured valid/competitive scores in the CAT/ XAT/ CUET PG/ CMAT entrance examination. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to GD and PI. Furthermore, candidates must submit documents on which they completed the Bachelor’s degree and other academic & personal details.

Before filling up the MBA application form at Assam University, it is suggested to the applicants that they should scan clearly the following documents (for uploading later) as per the size given below:
- Candidate’s Passport-size photograph – size between 150 Kb to 300 kb
- Candidate’s Signature – size max 30 Kb
- Copies of other Testimonials – Size 150 Kb to 300 kb each
In the ‘mandatory upload’ section, the applicant has to upload the following clearly readable documents:
- Passport-size photograph of the applicant.
- Scanned signature of the applicant.

The selection process for the MBA course at Assam University requires candidates to clear the basic eligibility criteria first, secondly, the candidates must achieve a good score in the accepted entrance examination. The final selection from among the eligible candidates will be based on composite scores, check out the weightage given below:
- Past academic records 30 % weight
- GD Scores 30% weight
- PI Scores 40% weight

Yes, Assam University, Silchar offers MBA courses for two-year in full-time mode. The university offers two major specialisations, one is Post graduate Diploma in Marketing Management and another is MBA in Hospitality & Tourism Management. Additionally, the university also offers five year BBA + MBA integrated course for five-years. The university accepts XAT, CAT, CUET-PG, CMAT and CUET scores for admission to this course.
