The admission process for ABMVU is dependant upon the course and its level. Candidates must appear for the course specific entrance exam and make their selection for preferred institute/location during the counselling process. For a general overview of UG level courses, candidates must appear for NEET/UPNEET (UG) for MBBS/BDS, CNET for BSc Nursing and CPET for Paramedical courses.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow is a State University that is famous for being first of its kind. It is not only a state affiliating university, but also the only affiliating university of the State of UP allowed to give affiliation to any Medical, Dental, Nursing and Paramedical college whether they be govt. or private.

ABMVU Lucknow was established in 2020, by the Uttar Pradesh State legislature as a State University, to be the central hub of medical teaching, training and research for all healthcare workers of Uttar Pradesh. As such, almost every college/institution in the state of UP, that offers education in the fields of Dental/Medical Sciences or degrees in Nursing/Paramedical courses is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow.

The constituent colleges of Atal Bihari Vajpayee University in Lucknow conducted their 1st Prof MBBS exams in the month of September in 2025. Students can check their results by heading to results section on the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Lucknow official website. To login one must enter their College Code and personal password.

The admission fees for the BDS course at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Lucknow depends upon the affiliated college/constituent the candidate receives admission in after making their selections/choices of institution. Candidates will receive a notice regarding the prescribed fee and final date from the University after successful allocation of a seat.

To apply for the Paramedical courses at the UG level of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, a candidate must appear for the Common Paramedical Entrance Test (CPET). For which, they must pay an examination fee of INR 3,000 for candidates of UR/OBC categories and INR 2,000 for candidates of SC/ST/PwD categories.

No, a candidate may only join one programme of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University at a time. This is because according to the UGC, which ABVMU Lucknow is recognised by a student can only pursue one Physical/Full-Time course at a time and ABVMU Lucknow only offers courses in Physical/Full-Time modes with no distance/open-learning modes available.
