That's a very logical and important question. One must ensure the following points before choosing any flying school.
1. The DGCA approvals of the flying school, their validity and no incident/accident record.
2. Condition and ownership status of the aircrafts - sometimes Aircrafts are leased and if the lease finishes in the duration of your CPL Training you may be hung for a very long duration. New aircrafts with improved technology are always good because they keep you closer to the requirements of airlines.
3. Status of the airfield - Controlled or Uncontrolled airfield must be checked. Because a controlled airfield will allow you better exposure to ATC functioning and flight planning. It will also save you from any fraud flying.
4. Availability of Navigational services - If the airport has got adequate facility of navigational facilities like ILS, VOR, DME, PAPI & VASI. You shall become a better pilot than those who will fly at airfields where all this does not exist. And you will also GET your CPL issue checks done on your home field instead of looking for any other airport.
5. Geographical location and terrain - It should also be kept in mind. Because geographical conditions and weather impacts the training flights most. Good geographical location like Rivers, Railways tracks etc. Allows better visual flying experience. Weather should also be considered because sometimes bad weather or rainy conditions adversely affect training flights. Training Aircrafts are small and less powered as compared to any jet aircraft hence cannot be flown in heavy gust or rains.
6. Availability of AME - It is very important to keep the aircraft in good condition all the times for training. And good AMEs conduct a daily inspection before the first sortie, this ensures the safety of pilot and the aircraft both.
7. Availability of DGCA Approved CFI and instructors - Now, this is the most important point to see. Because good and experienced instructors will always guide you better than others. CFI will help you conduct your checks smoothly and timely.
8. Good Ground Instructors - Ground Instructors help you in gaining the basic and most important theory which each pilot must be aware. It will also help you in clearing your CPL exams conducted by DGCA. I think I've listed the major things that you should keep in mind before you join a flying school.

Usually, Single Engine Aircrafts are used to train CPL trainees because its per hour operational cost is less than that of any multi-engine plane and DGCA has defined any candidate who is pursuing CPL should do 200 hours of flying irrespective of the engine composition of aircrafts. CPL on SE costs around 25 Lakh. CPL with 185 hours on SE and 15 hours on ME goes till 30 Lakh. CPL on ME, typically, I don't know anyone who has done that because 185 on SE+15 on ME gets you the CPL issued on ME rating. Now, the question arises, why is ME required? Airlines do not operate on Turboprops or Turboshafts which are usually involved in initial CPL training. Instead they operate on Jet Aircrafts. So anyone who gets selected for job after CPL is trained on that Jet Engined Aircraft. For Airbus Family, the requirement is to have ME Rating on CPL. Whereas, for some Boeing Aircrafts, it is not mandatory to have ME on CPL. And this is what creates the need to do ME rating on CPL. So usually CPL aspirants include ME Rating in CPL because this allows them to become eligible for both types of fleets Airbus or Boeing. Airbus and Boeing are major airliners manufacturer and they are mainly employed by 80% of airlines across the globe.

You need to understand that pilot training is governed and regulated by DGCA and it is irrespective of the flying school you choose to train with. For becoming a commercial pilot, there is a specific eligibility criteria, which you should first be aware of. This is decided on what subjects have you taken in class 12th. It requires 50% in PCM to be a pilot at 10+2 level. And, even if you have not opted for the same, then you can appear separately for these subjects and become eligible. Go to the class 2nd examiner's tab to find out doctors who will examine you for initial fitness. You can visit any doctorate from the list as per your convenience. Once you are done with Class 2nd medical, find out a suitable flying club for you as per your convenience. You can fly in India or abroad. I would suggest you fly in India. Besides finding the club, be aware that you will have to appear for:
1. Air Navigation
2. Aviation Meteorology
3. Air Regulations
4. Aviation Technical
5. Aircraft Specific
6. Radio Telephony
Here, 1-5 are conducted by DGCA and 6 is conducted by WPC. Prepare for these subjects and appear, as exams are conducted every quarterly. For preparation, flying club will help you or there are private instructors available in metro cities as well. You will fly for 200Hrs + Clear DGCA and WPC exams+Clear Class 1st medical, then you shall GET your CPL. The next license is ATPL, which you shall be able to apply for once. You will then have to probably fund or self-sponsor your type rating on whatever fleet you are selected in an airline. Then, you finally GET a job as a pilot. I hope the process is well explained to you. CPL is an expensive affair. It might cost you around Rs.18-20 Lacs for flying + DGCA exams Rs.500/- each exam + Medicals for Rs.10,000 + endorsements and license issue fees around Rs. 25k+Type Rating around Rs.15 Lacs. So, decide wisely before you enter the field.
