In General :
For becoming a commercial pilot, there is a specific eligibility criteria, which you should first be aware of. This is decided on what subjects have you taken in class 12th. It requires PCM to be a pilot. And, even if you have not opted for the same, then you can appear separately for these subjects and become eligible. Further, you should be aware that you are medically fit to be a pilot, so I would suggest you to visithttp://www.dgca.nic.in/medical/medical-ind.htmandgotothe class 2nd examiners tab to find out doctors who will examine you for initial fitness. Minimum Age: 18 Years on Last Date of Application

SPL is an intermediate stage to get CPL. It is issued by the flying school after some ground training and an internal exam. It facilitates your flying training to be initiated.

Some flying schools like IGRUA and NFTI Gondia conduct an entrance exam for CPL candidates. Otherwise, usually there is no entrance exam.

IGRUA comes up with notification for CPL entrants.
The advertisement for admission to Ab-initio to CPL course appears in Employment News and other leading newspapers generally in the month of March/April. Application format is also included in the advertisement.
The exam is aptitude based. You can follow NDA syllabus to prepare for this exam.
