I may suggest you to go one level up with next set of qualification. Opt for M.A (Specialization of your interest). You can also go for teaching or Civil Services. Even try for some offbeat courses such as- Designing, Hospitality, Foreign Languages, etc.

Yes, two regular courses can be pursued together ONLY if one is regular and the other is distance / short term certificate course.
Managing B.A and diploma in Mechanical engineering together will be strenuous task as both are different and demand proper time. Opt for both together ONLY if you feel that you can manage.
