No, D. El. Ed is not compulsory, if you had completed B.Ed. The B.Ed. Degree course is mandatory for teaching in higher primary schools and high schools. Thanks.

To get a decent Job after just doing a regular BA is tough. You should also do some additional course / Diploma / B.Ed / MBA etc., so that you get a good job. Well it all depends on your interest areas. Few such examples: Fashion Designing / Journalism / Event management / there are 1000's of options to choose from.

Please see the difference between the qualifications required for PRT / TGT / PGT teachers. Essential Qualification for (PRT) Teacher: Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.)
Essential Qualification for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) B.Ed Degree from a recognized University + Four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
