B.Sc Biotechnology

If you are a B.Sc. Student in biotechnology or any other biological sciences related fields, it is highly recommended that you pursue your M.Sc. The job opportunities for B.Sc. Graduates in a highly research oriented field such as biotechnology are very less and most students tend to pursue their M.Sc. In biotechnology or a specialised discipline of biotechnology. India is home to some excellent M.Sc. Programs such as JNU, DU, IISc, TIFR, IITs, etc. With an M.Sc. Degree, most students tend to work in research labs and industries as research assistants. The pay package is also quite less for M.Sc. Graduates. Since India is still developing, it is highly recommended that you do your M.Sc. In a reputed institution for good campus placements and job opportunities.

Yes it is required. In some universities you will be having maths for first 3 semesters and in some you will be having it only. For 2 years or so!
So it completely depends on which university you choose!
And coming to why maths I required here is the reason
1)To understand the process of sterilization you need to have basic knowledge of integration and differentiation.
2)In biotechnology one have to study about fermentator design & upscaling, bioprocesses, mass transfer, metabolic engineering, biochemistry, biophysics etc. So maths is required there!
3). For finding the estimation of dna, there is use of maths.
4). Calculate the composition of any culture.
5). Finding molarity, morality, normality of any solution.
6)If u placed in any industrial company there is use of maths for calculating the estimation, percentage, pH. And etc.
