There are a lot of opportunities after completing B.Sc (Hons) in botany. Botany is not only the study of plants but also of trees. This is a very broad course and it has applications in the biotechnology field as well. Global warming and other environmental problems (which will be forever) will help in building the scope of this branch. After completing B.Sc (Hons) in botany, you can study additional 2 years which will help you in grabbing a PG degree or you can opt for courses such as biotech, microbiology or molecular biology, etc.

If you are unsure, then go with Botany. It is easier of the two and has same scope as zoology. Try to consult your teachers too. They know you better and would tell you accordingly.

Yes, you are eligible to pursue M.Sc. In zoology. If you are concerned about the gap in between then don't worry. You will only be required to give a Self Declaration stating your reason for the gap and then you will be allowed to take admission.
