What do you mean by Hotel Manager? There is nothing called "Hotel Manager" in a 5 star property. They call the over-all In-charge as "General Manager(GM)". Hotel Manager is generally for small hotels where Manager looks after the complete operations. Otherwise, in big hotels, you have separate Managers for all 4 core departments who report to the GM.
If you want to get into a Leadership role, you must have Leadership skill and good communication skills. After joining the MT programme, you gradually move up the ladder.

It will depend on the nature of your gap. Gaining work experience won't jeopardize your chances but then they will check the quality of work, relevancy with your education, etc. Overall you should have a good profile and your career plans must be clear to have a good application.

The major difference between both is that a BSc in Hotel Hospitality and Travel focuses on the scientific and technical aspects of hotel operations, emphasizing subjects like food science, nutrition, chemistry, and engineering. Graduates have a strong foundation in hotel systems, operations, and technology. On the other hand, a BA in Hospitality and Travel emphasizes the liberal arts and social sciences. It includes courses in hospitality ethics, human resources, marketing, finance, and communication.
