Deciding whether BSc Biotechnology is easy or not depends on your study habits, interests, and strengths. Biotechnology combines Technology and Biology, so it requires a thorough understanding of genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, and other related fields. For some it may be difficult, but for some students it may be interesting and fulfilling.

Although it is not compulsory to have studied Mathematics as a subject in Class 11-12 level to apply for a BSc in Biotechnology course, students should have pursued the Science stream and studied Biology as a core subject.

The minimum eligibility requirement for BSc Biotechnology is to pass Class 10 and 12 with Physics, Biology, and Chemistry as core subjects, with min 50% overall (45% for SC/ST candidates), and 60% in each core subject.

As it is a BSc course, unlike BTech students who have done PCM or PCB in Class 12 are eligible for admission.
