The level of education and Faculty of the college is too good. They don't compromise in the academic part. For placements, majorly IT companies visit the campus taking students of CSE. For electronics and Communication not much companies visit so you have to make extra efforts to have an edge over other students.

See, as according to today's scenario, CS is the best branch but in the coming future, the scope of EC is very bright as all that CS engineer does all the thing is known by the EC engineer and they are destroying the CS engineer's market.

If you have confidence that you can get CS branch in any of the central government colleges then only I'll suggest you take a drop of 1-year, otherwise, not as you can also see what is the condition of the engineers in day to day life.

For that, first focus on your B.Tech syllabus, in that almost all the topics that will come in your IES exam will be there. Study those materials carefully and then if you want, you can join a coaching institute for the same, but if you study your syllabus carefully you need to do anything more.
