A few B Tech Mechanical Engineering subjects in the syllabus that are usually said to be difficult to understand are Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Control Systems, Engineering Drawing, Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines, and Materials Science. There are various mathematical equations and theories involved that can be difficult for freshers to understand.
Having said that, the subject that is difficult for one student can be the easiest one to grasp and manage for their friend, so it differs based on individual interest and understanding.

Absolutely. You will find many additional resources, also online learning platforms, YouTube channels, and college e-libraries, to learn about Mechanical Engineering, from the very basics to the advanced concepts. Online platforms like Coursera and edX have online mechanical courses from top universities, YouTube gives you access to study material in the form of recorded lectures from IIT professors via NPTEL, and you can even access the e-library of your academic institution (if applicable) to advance your knowledge besides classroom lectures.

You should have a study plan in place where you note down all the important topics, understand the mechanical concepts well instead of just mugging up things, take help from your fellow mates and professors, and practice last 5 years' question papers to check your preparation status. With dedication and focus, you would definitely be able to clear the backlog of papers in the B Tech Mechanical Engineering course.

Yes, there are more than 90 colleges in India that offer admission to the BTech Mechanical Engg. course via the CUET exam scores, including LPU, GGSIPU, Galgotias University, and Shoolini University. While not many students are aware, CUET can actually turn out to be an excellent alternative to JEE Main for admission to engineering courses like BTech Mechanical Engineering, where the exam syllabus includes the questions from the Class 12 syllabus only, as opposed to JEE Main, which covers both Class 11 and 12. CUET scores are also more likely to be accepted across various colleges than JEE Main.
