In the third year of the BTech in Mechanical Engineering at GL Bajaj Noida, the institute offers more specialised subjects, that give an in-depth understanding of specialisation. The answer to this question will differ from one person to another. The difficulty level depends a lot on the preparation of the students. For example, if you have prepared really well for the exam and you were able to attempt most of the questions comfortably, the entrance exam was very easy for you. Meanwhile, for your friend, the exam could be a disaster and very difficult to crack, as they might not have prepared that well for the test. 

Rest, the exam authorities who set the question paper also consider a lot of other factors like previous year student feedback, the number of applicants that usually apply for the entrance exam

There are many colleges and universities in India that do offer admission to BTech Mechanical Engineering considering the Class 12 board exam marks of the students. These institutions mostly take extra assessment rounds like the GD or PI round to test the capability of the students who apply for the course.

If you have a list of preferred Mechanical Engineering colleges, you can simply visit their official websites and confirm whether they offer merit-based admission or not. A lot of BTech Mechanical Engineering colleges and universities offer lateral entry admission to 3-year engineering Diploma holders either on a merit-basis or through lateral entry admission entrance tests. You can directly get admitted to the second year of BTech Mechanical Engineering in this case.
