Hello Aditya,
I don't think there will be any problem to get a job just because you dropped a year for entrance preparation. The employer is only interested in your educational qualification, your knowledge and your skills. Since you dropped a year for preparation of entrance exams, you haven't lost it. The preparation is definitely going to help you to get your goal and once you have achieved it, nobody cares how many years you dropped.
So, do not worry and move ahead towards your goal.

Veltech University has some good study abroad programs which you can make some great use of during your final semester. Apart from that it's pretty much like most of the section 3 deemed universities.
You'll surely find some great professors but there are many faculties who don't know what they're teaching.

There is no guarantee of 100% placements in India for B.Tech / B.Sc IT because in India there are large number of IT engineers and B.Tech is better among B.Tech and B.Sc IT.

Hi Anupam,
The best among private universities is BITS-Pilani. It has a 100% placements and offers higher salary packages.
The next is VIT-Vellore. It is not equal to BITS but it also has good placements and salary packages.
They both are the best for B.Tech among the private universities.
All the best!
