Candidates must have passed minimum two/ three years Diploma examination or pass a BSc Degree from a recognised University as defined by UGC, with minimum 45% aggregate (40% aggreagte in case of SC/ ST candidates and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only). Moreover, the selection process to the programme is based on Diploma aggregate scores.

For IIITDM Kancheepuram BTech admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 (Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology as an optional subject) with at least 75% aggregate. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates are also required to appear for the JEE Main entrance test, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram BTech fee is INR 5.28 lakh. The fee mentioned here is the total tuition fee and is calculated on the basis of 1st semester. Hence, is indicative. Apart from the mentioned tuition fee, candidates also need to pay a one-time fee of INR 5,000. One-time payment includes the admission fee, certificate/ thesis fee, student welfare fee, infrastructure development fee, alumni life membership fee, publication fee/ library fee and cultural fee.

The cutoff trend for BTech ME at IIITDM Kancheepuram has been increasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 57606. In 2022, it increased to 59743. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 84625 to 72894 for OBC, 174819 to 146773 for SC, 201006 to 240679 for ST, 71518 to 79457 for EWS, 38228 to 1436 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
