When you get admission in a college for B.Tech, it will be almost July. But till July, your original marksheet and certificate, as well as migration certificate would not have to your school from CBSE. Therefore, college requires the copy of the marksheet posted online, character certificate from school and transfer certificate as well. You can submit the original document later on. You can surely opt for this branch. Just make sure that you get interest in studying engineering. Because, as you want to do UPSC ultimately, you might ignore engineering studies. Engineering will certainly help you in one or the other way when you'll become an IAS officer.
