Hi Dev Kohli,
Lateral entry process is very different and difficult abroad, you have to contact the colleges first and see if you meet the admission requirements and credit point requirements. All these requirements are different from college to college. Most likely you have to start from a Bachelor's degree. Also, without completing a Bachelor's degree you cannot pursue PG Diploma.

Economics is an area that has been underestimated quite a bit in India.
What makes economics versatile is its applications to an economy as well as an enterprise. Economics as a subject is a combination of numbers and human behavior.
There are so many areas -
Developmental Economics
Behavioral Economics
Environmental Economics
Agricultural Economics
Micro Economics
Companies such as Google, Apple, HP, Intel, etc. use economists to introduce new offers and price them based on human behavior. Economists serve as an interface between engineering and marketing.
