Hi Dhruvansh,
Investment bankers are thoroughly conversant with the accounting, financial and legal issues that impact business. They also have a good understanding of all business facets.Although a CA is equally qualified for the job, an MBA with specialization in finance from a good B-school is what companies look at the entry level.A stint at a real job in a big industrial enterprise would also help, especially if you intend to become a so-called industry specialist. It also helps to have at least a notional understanding of the business you are trying to finance, buy, sell, or restructure.

Hi. Good question. There are no official sub divisions in Investment Banking. To join this industry, you need a masters in finance/banking. CFA is a good option also. There is nothing like more earning, high salary. You need to have high skills to get high salary. There exist no equation to career success. Rgds, Dr. Anand Wadadekar, Founder Director, www. Dear Hritik, Investment banking is essentially about matching the expectations of people who have the capital with people who need the capital. This can be structured at various stages of the life cycle of a venture starting from the ideating stage to the listing at stock markets.
On an average, a fresher in this domain can expect a package of Rs. 20 lakh per annum and there is no upper limit on pay scale as the same is directly proportionate to the value contribution of the professional to the size and value of the deals

Since you are bound to an MBA, it doesn't really matter whether you choose BBA or B Com as your graduation. But since you wish to work as an investment banker, a B Com will put you into the accountancy orbit, while a BBA will bring you closer to a business track.
