Generally there is no stream or branch to choose from on BCA. Some universities do allow students to choose thier few electives. You may confirm what are the choices being offered by your college for an appropriate advice.

If you aim is the join IT or ITES industries only then you may opt for BCA-MBA else BBA-MBA. BBA-MBA will open wide and more job opportunities for you in different kind of industries in all type of management functions.

With IT industry in slow decline phase because of outcry against outsourcing in Western countries and increased work visa restrictions, students aspiring to do MCA or BTech CS are advised to do degree from prestigious colleges which have good placement record. Students from poor and average universities are struggling to get job after MCA. Therefore, you strategy to drop one year for MCA entrance exams is a reasonable and good strategy.
