To pursue a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), you generally need to have studied Science (with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) in your 11th and 12th grade, as the eligibility criteria for BDS typically require a Science background. Since you studied Arts in 11th, you will need to take Science subjects (especially Biology) in your 12th to meet the requirements for BDS.

Alternatively, if you're committed to pursuing BDS, you could consider completing the necessary Science subjects through an open school or foundation course, and then appear for entrance exams like NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for admission

The cut-off rank for the BDS programme at Government Dental College, Vijayawada, for SC category students in 2024 is around 46836 as per the closing ranks of NEET Round 2. This gives the minimum rank at which the SC candidates can get a seat in the BDS course. The cutoff differs slightly every year due to many factors, including the number of applicants and the difficulty of the exams, so it's always a good idea to be updated with official announcements during the admission process.

In order to pursue a career as a dentist Sudha Rastogi Dental College in Faridabad is renowned for its academic program, clinical experience and good facilities. It offers BDS training with an emphasis on hands-on practice in the college's dentistry clinic and is associated with Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences. Though it has received some favorable evaluations, some students believe that, in comparison to other prestigious private dentistry schools like Manipal or Jamia Millia Islamia, the college may have less research possibilities and staff experience

The cutoff for a Management Quota seat in BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) varies based on the following factors:

  1. NEET Eligibility: Candidates must qualify for the NEET UG exam. The minimum percentile required is 50th for General category, 40th for SC/ST/OBC, and 45th for General-PwD.

  2. College-Specific Requirements: Management Quota cutoffs depend on the college, state, and the number of available seats. They are usually lower than government quota cutoffs.

  3. NEET Score Range: A score around 250-400 is often sufficient for management quota seats, but this can vary widely.

Check with the specific college for accurate information.

For 2024 Amrita Universitys Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program—more especially, the Amrita School of Dentistry in Kochi—is accepting applications. Based on NEET UG 2024 scores the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) uses centralized counseling to carry out the selection process. Admission is guaranteed to qualified applicants who meet the cutoff and are given seats by MCC.

After four years of school, students enrolled in the BDS programme must do a mandatory one-year rotatory residential internship (CRRI). The Dental Council of India (DCI) has recognised the course.
