The NIIT BTech course is offered in a total of six major specialisations such as Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Robotics & Automation, and Cyber Security.
The minor specialisations is a separate optional certificate programme for BTech degree students that runs in parallel to the degree programme and is offered in areas of study other than the discipline of degree programme. The minor courses for BTech programme are offered in the fields of Finance, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship. The minor programme fee is an additional INR 40k.

The reserved category students pursuing BTech at NIT Patna can avail numerous scholarships offered by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. The scholarships can be availed by ST, SC, EBC, OBC and DNT category students. Students can also explore the international research setup through the international education exchange Fullbright Fellowship program.

As per the NIRF report 2025, NIT Patna BTech median salary stood at INR 8 LPA for 579 graduates. The placement rate was 82.47% for the BTech programme which had a batch size of 702 students, despite the fact that 77 students opted for higher studies.

No, direct admission in the BTech course at NIT Patna is not possible. If you wish to take admission to the NIT Patna BTech course, then you must appear for the JEE Mains followed by the JoSAA counselling.

Candidates require following documents to complete the BTech admission process at NIT Patna:
- Print out of online admission form
- Balance fee payment receipt
- JEE Mains score card
- Provisional seat allotment letter/ admission letter generated from JoSAA/ CSAB/ DASA
- Duly filled undertaking forms
- Medical fitness certificate
- Migration and character Certificates
- Photo identity card
- Class 10 marksheet and certificate
- Class 12 marksheet and pass certificate
- APAAR ID
- Passport size photograph
- Category Certificates (for reserved category candidates)
Note: Candidates might have to bring additional documents as communicated by NIT Patna.

The international applicants can apply for undergraduate courses at University of Greenwich via UCAS. Application process is as follows:
· Apply via UCAS before the deadlines
· Submit docs – XII Marksheet, Transcripts, Standardized tests-ACT/SAT, SOP, LOR, English Lang test (IELTS, TOEFL) and CV
· Submit application fee of GBP 28.50 that is roughly INR 3.2 K.
